Research Fellowships in Planning and Development
Fall 2004
Deadline for receipt of email applications: October 1, 2004.
Fellowship awards will be announced October 27, 2004
The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy announces fellowship opportunities for 2004-2005 for the pursuit of scholarly research in the field of planning and development.
The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy is a nonprofit and tax-exempt educational institution established in 1974. Its mission is to study and teach land policy, including land economics, land use, land regulation, and land taxation. The Cleveland industrialist, John C. Lincoln began the foundation. He drew inspiration from the ideas of Henry George, the nineteenth-century American political economist, social philosopher and author of the book Progress and Poverty. The Institute's goals are to integrate theory and practice in order to inform land policy and ultimately improve people's lives.
The research is expected to result in a Lincoln Institute working paper. In addition to a working paper, each fellowship recipient will present his or her research at a seminar to be held at the Lincoln Institute approximately 6 months from the time of the award. This seminar is not for presentation of final results, but for a discussion of works-in-progress.
Research funding for each approved proposal will be no more than $30,000, not including supplement for travel to the seminar.
